Beaches

Well...let's face it this is not a post that displays my attempt at photography or tells a story of what I'm up to like I normally do.  It's one big show off post about the lovely beaches we went to on our holiday! I have one more post which will be in a style like my normal posts.

So here we are, lots of beaches around the south coast of Menorca and some flowers too.  I was looking through my pics and struggling to believe that two hours away on the plane there is a sunny place with no rain but the weather is looking up people! This rain is forecast to go away next week just in time for my best friend's wedding I can't wait!!

Around Dorset/Devon

The photos below show what we were up to between River Cottage and wandering around the cottage. Our fish was bought from Lyme Regis which is a nice place though really busy - especially when the sun shines!  The first photo is totally misleading as to the left of me there were hundreds of children running into the sea, people taking a first bite of their ice cream before the seagulls run away with it and general British "it's sunny so I shall wear hardly anything and grin and bear it" gotta love it!

We didn't stay very long at the beach and after wandering around the shops we took a river walk back to the car.

We had to check out of the studio pretty early the next day and since the clocks had just gone forward the roads were completely empty.  We headed west to a little fishing village called 'Beer'.  I remember going there when I was about ten and really enjoying it so I had to suggest a second look.

Dorset through plastic

Before the digital SLR entered our lives I was a bit obsessed with my Fisheye and Diana cameras and always on the lookout for cheap alternatives to play with.  We found a Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim and had only processed one film through it before.  These are recent photos from a second go and I quite like them.  The other half commented that the imperfections at least show that the camera is doing what it should be - bless, I like a glass half full take on it, I personally think I don't know what I'm doing!

February roundup

I thought I would try and get a bit of regular posting on this blog so for this post I will sort out my phone photos monthly and blog the keepers.  I suppose doing this blog post may mean I will use the phone more.  I like that the pictures would often never be taken with the chunky DSLR as it is not the most inconspicuous of things and I'm not very brave to get it out in those quiet yet public situations.  As you can see, most the photos are from the inside of eating establishments :)
